93sx exciter chain case woes

Can some one chime in here re the problem with the exciters chain case. I aslo need to know my stock tooth count up and down please. I beleive I grenaded the innards of my case last night as I was almost home from the best run of my season...it never ends....

I have extra parts but I was thinking of dropping down one gear on the bottom for a little more kick and the low end. Also is there a diff in the chain cases/gear set up on the older exciters 89-91?

Not sure about the actual chaincase difference but your stock gearing should be 17 upper and 33 bottom.

Excellent. Thanks for that info.

Perhaps I was unclear..
I 've heard numerous mentions of the yamaha exciters having problems in the drive chain area. I am wondering if anyone has had any chaincase isues and where the problem was. This is an area that is new to me so I'm trying to educate myself before this weekend.

Thanks in advance

P>S Anyone with this gear set up(17 upper and 33 bottom)drop one tooth on the bottom? How much difff was there in bottom end and overall performance?

out.
