How do I get less ski pressure ?>?

As it says above...I have a 93 Exciter sx I want to lighten the front a bit. My struts are ajustable bvut I was thinking the front shock of the skid. WOuld I tighten it for less ski pressure???

Lengthen the front limiter strap, if it has one. My 1989 exciter had one.
