1991 Yamaha Phazer II Extra Wires?

Hello. I finally picked up a pair of heated grips (hotgrips) and have them glued on. Now for the wiring. I started looking for somewhere to get power from. Before I opened it up I was just going to slice into the headlight wiring. But after I opened things up I noticed a set of wires that don't go anywhere. Can I use these?

Again this is a 1991 Yamaha Phazer II. It is a basic sled without electric start etc. Thanks!

I'm not the best with electrical but if it were me I would hook up to the wires and test it out. If there's an in-line fuse and you're doin something you shouldn't be, the fuse should blow. Chances are that's what those wires are for.

is one a male and one a female connector coming out near the steering shaft?
try those, if they dont work then splice into the lighting coil
i think the wires mentioned above are for acc coil #2 which you may or may not have

DON'T splice into the light wires! It'll dim the hell out of your headlight! Tap into the hot lead going to the key switch.

Well I ended up soldering on to the extra wires and so far so good. Drove about 20 miles last night and they heated right up. Thanks for all your comments.

I still can't believe we have over 2 feet of snow in Massachusetts IN DECEMBER. Crazy.

Merry xmas all!
