Is the oil pump lever traveling it's full range of motion? Is it closing all the way when you let off the throttle lever?

I have done as you told me and is seems to be moving ok, would there be a screw or something to turn down the amount of oil it's getting. Or should it be going throught 1 lt. of oil for about 1-1 1/2 hours of riding

I just replaced my oil pump in my 02' Viper. I had the same problem. Yamaha's don't go through oil and the Viper was suckin it back like a cold Miller on hot summer day. It was a hell of a job, motor had to come out to get at it. But when we took it out, it was definately gone.
Good luck.
