84 Phazer Carbs

Does anyone know the trick to getting the carbs and airbox out of an 84 Phazer? I appears that the rest of the sled was built around them. Thanks,Dan

I always take the boots off Between the carbs and the airbox 1st, squish them together and they will come out eventually. Then I disconnect the exhaust side fuel line first. Then pull the carbs from the motor, tilt them up slightly to get to the clutch side fuel line.. Never had the airbox out though.. Good luck.. Gettin them in isn't any picnic either..

There's a rectangle cap on the cowl above the gas door. Pop it with a screw driver and theres two bolts. They hold the airbox in place. If you remove those you can pull the airbox back away from the carbs once the screws on the boots are loose. It still ain't easy but it does help.

carbs

Thanks for the help Guys, I guess the most important thing is to not be in a hurry and just take my time by the sound of things. I'll give it a try, Dan
