Hi,

I picked up an 82 srv, I am new to the whole snowmobile thing, I am not looking to do any mods, its just to run through the fields, I want to take off the airbox, the sled hasn't run in a couple of years. The airbox seems jammed between the carb and the steering assembly, is there any tricks to getting it out?
I have removed the 2 screws on the belt side and the 2 bolts on the top, and loosened the clamp on the carb boot, there is a third screw but it is blocked by the steering shaft. any help is appreciated. while i have it off is there anything in the carb i should look at?

That sled is a B**** to get the airbox off. Trust me on that one! I used to own two.

any tips on where to start?

Unbolt everything, pull the carb, and then you will have to almost pry the airbox forward to "pop" it out.
