I used to have a Phazer around that year. Here in Western Canada they are very popular trail/mountain sleds. The wife mostly rode the one we had and she absolutely loved it. She wants another one. I believe they are actually 485 CCs not 500. The fan cooling was never an issue. On warmer days I'd remove the side panels for more air flow and no problem. A little limited for suspension but very light and agile. Very, very dependable motors. They're not lake racers but fun machines. For $2000 that sounds pretty good but maybe a bit high with 4300 kms. If it was taken care of it's worth it I think. I'm in Canada so your prices are usually from what I've seen alot better than here. That sled would probably run around $2500 Canadian.
Good Luck

Great sled. I used to have a '90 Phazer II (same sled, but it was the short track model). It was comfortable, got good gas milage and never broke down on me.
