Well we were riding with someone last weekend with the same sled, good runner but he had the front end redone from a wreck and the ski came off the sled, screw up from the guys that worked on it, but it is a good sled going over the trails.

Is this the black grey and red sled? I would get it if I had the cash, but I prefer my VIPER.

Yes I can,my 2006 ER I have about 6,400 miles on it. Haven't been exactly trouble free miles. Problems I have had are:wheels don't hold up on my 24th set about, actually it's the most consistant problem. The next problems are what I hope to think are freak cases:dash went wacky last year, had a used one put on;jackshaft bearing went on it last year, rare;exhaust manifold gasket leak this year;rear suspension W-arm broke this year, tunnel bent on it last year, rare. All have been fixed under warranty luckily. I bought an extra 4 year warranty last year so it's like I have 5 years, works well so far, worth it if you will keep it awhile and ride a lot. Love the power, smoothest running sled I've ever driven. Gas mileage about 12-15,Rev's still kill it. All in all I like it,drives lighter than it is. Would I get another one, possibly not,3 cylider is better on gas, quieter, and I just don't need 150 hp for trail riding. Bought it because I was trading it for a Fusion 900 and I just wanted the 4 cylinder once. I will probably run mine at least 1 more year and see what happens then. I would recommend the extended warranty if you will keep it longer then 1 year. I know I will probably not be going back to Polaris after this one. After I was up in Canada this week I found Polaris has a long ways to go with their Cleanfire engines yet. Right now I'd say Yamaha and Skidoo are the cream of the crop . Long rides are great with a 4 stroke,no oil to add. Any other questions I'd be glad to tell you.

well sounds like you've had more problems than i'd expect.. I will certainly be doing some more research..

my other option is a 2005 skidoo mach z with 4800 miles for 6 grand...

But that extended warranty is something that i will be checking into.. is that 4 yr extended warranty commonly offered thru most yamaha dealers?

About the warranty,I'm not sure, but I would have to think so,it wasn't a dealer warranty. My dad owned the same sled last year and just had wheel problems. He bought a leftover Apex RTX then this spring and has just had wheel problems. That is the only common problem,Yamaha had a new wheel distributor last year. They ended up putting on a wheel with a smaller and cheaper bearing. We have been using a different wheel this year, not as bad,but still burn out the bearings. Why buy a sled with 4,800 miles when you can get one with no miles and warranty? I've been told Skidoo makes their motors to last for 6,000 miles. I'm not favoring Yamaha because I'd buy a Skidoo in a heartbeat if I'd want to go back to a 2 stroke.

Apex ER man.. I am very appreciative for your input.. i hadnt even thought of inquiring about an extended warranty.. Personally i think im going to go for the yamaha 4 stoke as described above.. this is a 2007 model.. I wonder if the wheel issues were improved for 2007.. i think yours is a 2006 model...

Tried Polaris ones last year and smoked them off. I don't know,I still think it's a flaw in the design of the suspension too along with bad wheels. Hasn't been as bad this year though with the new Yamaha wheels.

The warranty may be more this year because I got it for dealer cost last year in spring. Dad told me his would be worth $847. Still worth it though if they charge $100/hr labor.
