More Vmax Problems

I have a 1997 vmax 600 XT...I recently snapped both the tensioner bars..I took out the suspension to replace them and by the time i put it back in the sled had been sitting for 2 weeks...now excited to ride i fired it up it started no problem 3 pulls but its not preforming right at first i thaught it was running on one cilinder because when i pulled the plugs only one was wet..but now when i run it they are both wet..the sound is completely off and it also lets out the odd backfire..i have no idea what the problem could be...Perhaps it froze up, c arbs need cleaned....also after letting it run a dark oil or greas of some sort it coving the manifold that was never there before....not too sure if there is a gasket or something between the heads and the manifold but if there is this could be a problem as well.....any inputs would be greatly appreciated thatx

Stupid question but did you try 2 new plugs? The oil is probably just seeping out of the manifold because it is flooded.Try 2 new plug, then check compression, finally if it has good compression, pull the carbs.
