I have a 1999 yamaha 500 twin that is getting around 7mpg. The sled does have alot of miles (13,000), and the engine was rebuilt 2 times (under waranty, yay for the 3 year warranty), but the sled is using way too much fuel. The compression is 125psi, and it starts really easy, just over time, the fuel economy kept getting worse. Any ideas?

Are the plugs fouling? Are the chokes closing al the way? Vmax's weren't known for good gas mileage...

The plugs werent fowling, not sure about the chokes, I did notice that the choke might have been hanging up just a hair, but not too long ago, it was getting around 10mpg. I have been premixing the gas though, since the oil pump went bad, but I have been doing that for a few years.
