Help Me!

Hey i have a 97 Vmax 600 xt....i am quite happy with the sled its top end is great i can get it doing 110mph+ on the spedo....it as some mods but nothing major...my big concern is how can i get the clutch to engage sooner...when i punch it well moving it take a few seconds to really grab on and go and from a dead stop i cannot lift the skis and i know there is more then enough power to do it......any ways to help me lift the skis would realy help THANX

Could be the clutch system binding up.

could the trak just spin. Do you need a better trak or studs?

New belt would help greatly!
You can reduce ski pessure by loosening the limiter straps, but be aware this will effect the steering performance, as well!

That sounds low perhaps yor spring is getting weak. 4000 to 4500 would engage better. A 1 1/4 is a deep track, could yhe belt be slipping?

Thoroughly clean the clutches and make sure that your belt is not worn.

So what's the problem? If you're still spining the track maybe stud it? Maybe loosen the limiter strap?

Near the front of the track there should be 2 leather or ruber straps from the slid rail going up to the upper fixed pivot with a long bolt and nylock nut. Spray the threads with PB Blaster or Liquid wrench then loose the same amount each. this should put more tension on the front of the track and less on the skis, if not put more spring tension on front track shock. You could loosen the tension on the rear shock and the sled would squat more. But if you are doing this just to look kool be carefull, you have no control with the skis in the air, and it's hard to see too

There should be some kind of strap that keeps the front of the track up. Put the sled on a stand (something safe)
look within the first foot of the track, there should be one on each side, at the top there should be a long eye bolt and nut. Loosen the nut evenly! about 2 full turns?

soft suspension can kill the wheelie in a start

also might want to clean upp your clutch

track spin is all relative to how fast you "gun it"...any sled can spin the track when you goose it from a dead stop...even with studs

i think you need to play with your clutch if you want a quicker start. check the belt too.
