Unhappy Help...no spark

Hi all, first time on this board. My 1978 250ET finally stranded me.
Riding along, next thing I knew....dead engine. This machine has never let me down. I have been broke, but all other occasions have been driver induced. My question I guess; is this probably a coil issue (no forewarning at all), or maybe a magneto problem. I am going to check both, but I was wandering is one of these is the typical problem area?
Thanks in advance

Unhappy

Update. I replaced the condenser, put it all back together, check for spark, YES there was a spark. Apparently very short lived. Stuck the plug in and no start. Removed the plug check for spark again....zip. Can somebody please point me in the right direction. How can I test the coil, points, or magneto. I've checked the wiring, all is good.

My son is getting itchy to hit the trails again.
