Question Yamaha 1997 Venture

I have a yamaha Venture 500. One time last year and just recently this year I drove through some water (less than a foot deep) The steering is now entirely frozen up. I can put some heat on it for a few minutes and it loosens right up. but then it then will freeze up within a few minutes once it gets back outside.... Has anyone had this problem? I'm assuming I going to have to rip the shocks/steering out and replace and I'm not looking forward to that.

Bring to to a warm place and grease all steering fittings. Watch the water come out when you do. Don't miss the one down in fronnt of the motor. Good Luck
