I am hooking up the wiring harness and have a few connections that don't seem to have a home.

Can anyone wage a guess what these three things are for and where I should connect them.

what does this wire do? comes off of magneto

help what do these do? where do they go?

hmm more electrical mystery... what is this for?

another shot of that same connection

Pic 1 is the wire for the charging system. If your sled is not equipped with electric start, that wire is unused.

Pic 2 shows the wires for the hand warmers. Note the corroded and melted ground wire. If your other wire plugs off the stator are corroded as well, that will contribute to a no/weak spark. Also note the chaffed wires on the other plug exposing the bare wires. There is a potential short waiting to happen. At the least, use some liquid electrical tape. That stuff will seal way better than wrapping it.

In the 3rd pic, that is a light socket. Based on the length of the pigtail, I would venture to guess its the light for the oil/fuel level lines located on the right side of the sled. There is a flat, black plastic plate secured by two phillips screws mounted to the portion of the steering hoop where the side panel attaches. Should be two lines running through it and the light socket goes behind the plate.

Another observation was the condition of the key switch. Do you have a key and this is functional? If not, and it is still plugged into the main harness, you wont have any spark.

Not a tether switch. Wouldnt have been a factory item on that sled and the blue wire is a dead giveaway for the lighting circuit.

Just an fyi, although you say your sled doesnt have heated grips, it came that way from the factory and that is what those wires are for as I mentioned. The toggle switch to activate them is located(should be) on the steering post cover directly below the tach. Left is low heat, center is off, and right is high heat. This based on the engine code stamped on the fan housing denoting your sled as a 1991, or at least thats what the engine is.
