New Attack
Just put the first 300 miles on my new attack. Love the machine. Noted two items that differ from my 6 Polaris's. First the hand warmers do not seem to get as hot as my other sleds. Second, I really had to lean harder in the corners for the ski's to bite. Wondering if any body else had noticed these on their sleds.
Thanks

Yep. I had gauntlets for this sub 0 weekend and you definitely gotta lean way over to take the twisties hard.

attack input
Hey guys just did 350 miles this weekend heres my input, hand warmers suck, had issues overheating, and also noisy rear suspension, sounded like the shock (topping out), other than that i loved the machine, fast, smooth, throttle response was instant, o yea also blew belt 1st day, not real sure why

I was told on my Apex that the handwarmer issue is because of the hooks, heat absorbed by them, not too bad otherwise,I rode in -35 degree windchill this weekend, rode with leather gloves, just fine. Yeah you have to lean more to turn with these, but you gotta lean on all of them so big deal. Like it otherwise.

Thanks for the feed back. We ride most weekends in Newberry area. Last weekend we were in Wawa Ont. 20 below Friday morning. If you have the chance to ride there jump on it. It is awsome. Stay at the Wawa Motor Lodge.

Put 200 miles on this weekend and had the same problem with the hand warmers. The corners you do have to kind of push through them put I have 96 studs and 8in shaper bars on my Nytro.

Just picked up my new Attak Thursday and put 600 miles on this weekend. Handwarmers do suck. Had problems with it overheating @ first but that only lasted the 1st 100 miles

Supposedly the motors run a lot hotter than a 2 stroke and if you are on really hardpack snow or very little snow you need too get in some good snow to keep them cool. That's what I found out with mine, but really haven't had any major overheating.

my buddies rs rage corners pretty bad, ov coarse thats a long track. I thought you had to go through a break in period for the first 100 mi i talked to a guy with a nytro and he said he had to go through the first 100 miles staying under 40 mph. my next sled is DEFFINITLY going to be a 4-stroke!

You don't have to keep it under 40,just don't run it wide open all the time, take it easy.

Thanks for the reply Apex Er Man. I had serious overheating issues with my Polaris. So I really jumped when I read about the Yamaha getting hot.

It also seems like nobody can build a decent sled anymore,my '97 and '01 Polaris's never had issues like sleds do now. Don't get me wrong, my Apex is overall the best engine performance of all the sleds I've owned lately, but now I have rear suspension issues to deal with which I've never had otherwise, granted they are not major issues, but still something to be concerned about sometimes. Yes the 4 strokes get hot quicker when you are on no snow like I found out again yesterday, but what sled doesn't get hot when you run on little snow, takes snow to keep all of them cool, just how it is. Right now I think it would be very hard for me to go back to 2 stroke sled because this thing just runs so much smoother and nicer overall, handles just fine too! Yes it's heavier and I only notice it on really twisty trails, but so what, I just gas and go,no oil to worry about. The only 2 stroke I'd consider now would be a Skidoo, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon. I ride a lot and have ridden all kinds of sleds lately,so maybe the problems I see now are just from riding a lot,NOT! When I can't get 1,000 miles on a set of wheels there is something wrong, other than that I'm pretty happy with the Yamaha I thought I'd never have! And to think Polaris forced me into buying one too is even better!
