Apex-Nytro?

I have an Apex, as you can see by my username, but myself and my dad are considering stepping down to a Nytro leftover. Any of you Nytro owners could give some likes and dislikes about them would be appreciated. We'd like to know what you are seeing out of gas mileage, top end mph, ride quality and can you change your own oil w/out having to tear the whole frontend apart, how easy is it for you? We are thinking of doing this because our Apex's have had some suspension issues, like wheels going to hell, slides burning up under 1,000 miles always until we made our snoflaps longer and we can't change our own oil, something we should be able to do, but Yamaha made it so hard to do on these machines, that I don't or he doesn't want to pay $120 for an oil change. Our impressions are that Yamaha didn't design it so well for this,I've heard the Vectors are easy to do,so I assume the Nytro's are simple too. This is not something we are doing right now, but maybe at the end of the year or beginning of nextyear. We love how the Apex handles and runs,so we want to stay with rider forward style and smooth running of the Yamaha 4 stroke,so any imput would be great, tell us everything, don't be bashful,we are very serious riders, long mileage all the time,so tell us things you have noticed, like any suspension problems as an example, thanks.

The Nytro is a great sled it gets around 20 mpg. The top end on it is 110 but people have to remeber that yamaha saud it was not a lake runner and the clutch in it is made so that its quick out of the hole which it is. The suspension is good on it. I have not had to change any sliders on it yet or wheels but two wheels are getting there. Fo rthe oil change its bad it is the same 120 change thats what the dealer said but i will do it myself this off season. All around a great sled lots of fun

Thanks, can you get the oil filter out w/out taking the whole airbox out, can it all be done from under the sled? That's good top end, don't need to go that fast anyways.

yammy4life, how satifsfied are you with the suspension, is the rear end too stiff??? How does it handle/corner, any inside ski lift?? Have you by chance raced an F6 or something in that class?

Thanks for the help.

Dad and I actually drove the Nytro yesterday at our dealer and from the little that we drove the Nytro the suspension did well on rougher terrain, liked it almost more than my Apex, but now I'm thinking I will run my Apex one more year at least,I am having a change of heart on it. I'll wait and see what Yamaha does in 2008,dad's most likely going to get a Nytro next year.

Roght now i have the rear suspension set at medium and it is a little stiff and the fox floats are and 50 psi and they are great. In the corners it handles great but i put 96 studs and 8in shaper bars on it. Very little ski lift. I have not raced a f6 but ski-doo 600 and it close but i do win and i have more top end.
