Looking to buy newish Yamaha new answers

I am going to start riding again and am no expert on these. I used to have a 80 Exciter and a 83 SRV. I am looking at buying a 97 or newer 500 or bigger. I dont have unlimited funds but need to buy one that will take my extra weight. I am 350lbs and need a good rear suspension. I have a chance to get a 97 Vmax 600 double with 2400 miles for 1200. Is this suspension good for trail riding? I dont ride overly aggressively. 80 mph is fast enough for me. I rode a 2001 srx 500 last week and it was fast enough. Is this suspension as good or better on the 97 600 Vmax. Is there a better rear suspension in this price range? Is there any I should stay away from? And please, yamaha only.

That V Max for $1200 sounds like a decent price. Is the suspension a Pro Action? If suspension is what you want, you can alway's put a M-10 in it. You would be all set.

A M-10 is an after market suspension made by FAST. It's probally the best out there.

Here is some info.
