Plug fouling is a sign of incomplete combustion. It is an indicator that you are too rich or have too much oil being injected. I replace plugs once a year just because, not because they are fouled. If you foul every 300 miles, figure out the reason, it's not the plug, it's the carb or the oiler. 1000-1500 miles is not unheard of on a set of plugs in a two-stroke.
Sometimes switching brands can help; sometimes going to a step hotter plug can help. Some sleds seem to run better on one brand over another (for example, the Liberty Polaris engines do not seem to run as well on NGK plugs as they do on the Champions.)
