Yamaha RX Warrior Overheat Light

Hello,

My first post :-) I have a question - my ovheat light for my RX Warrior went off the other day. I shut the engine off for a few mintues, checked coolant - it was fine. I havent had another issue. Unit only has about 100 miles on. Isnt it true that Yamaha has some kind of system that will shut the unit off before any overheating damage can occur? I also thought the indicator light comes on in time to give you notice before you did damage?

Thanks!

Were you low on gas by chance? My light goes on on my Apex if it's low too and I wonder sometimes if it's overheating too and then realize I'm actually low on gas! The motor should shut off though if it is overheating.

Now that I think of it I probalby was low on gas. If this caused that it would be really weird. Nothing I can do now - hopefully was a false alarm. I think the light comes on before damage is done. Thanks for the reply!
