could be old gas or bad plugs or coil or spark plug wires reversed, water in the gas mabey carb problem

does it have any power, my QT50's exhuast port was cloged with carbon and did almost the same as you are expeciencing with your srv, but the srv would probally blow the carbon out on its own, seeing that is a biggger motor

PPlug wires are reversible, that's not it. Backfiring is usually a lean condition. Remove and clean the carbs.

O.K.

I took the carb apart, cleaned it (paid $60 bucks for the service manual thought-I should use it) put it back together and it did the same thing. Took the plugs out, the one on the left was wet and black, the one on the right was golden and dry. Changed plugs and it seems to run O.K. (we do not have ANY snow so I really can't go and try it) I drove it around the grass a little. Could one of those two "repairs" have been it? Please let me know what you guys think. I'm really new to this and I want to make sure it is ready to go if and when we get more snow.

Thanks

The side with the wet oily plug is the trouble side. Probably a fouled plug.
