I was the exact opposite! Pretty much said never again to a 2 stroke. Too much time wrenching, much rather be riding! I had been die hard arctic cat, but my cats were just too finicky. When they ran, they ran great. But I also spent a lot of time on the wrong end of a tow rope.

As far as the weight, you really don't notice it, and depending on the model, they aren't really that much heavier than a comparable 2 stroke. If you are in deep powder/mountain conditions, yeah yamaha isn't the best, but for trail riding, they are a very good choice. Something about a 4 stroke pulling like a train when you hit the gas is addictive! I am laughing in the helmet every time I drive the wife's warrior, just from the sheer torque the thing has!

OP, keep in mind some of the yamaha's on that list are 2 strokes. Yamaha's first 4 stroke was 2003, and the last 2 stroke was 2004. (aka, 2003 and 2004 had both). Given that list without knowing a budget, I'd pick the 2009 Apex, or either of the 2015's. I'd avoid the Phazer's, they are more or less motocross cycles on snow. Light, but not a lot of power. VERY upright riding position and not comfortable over a long ride. You wouldn't be happy blasting on a trail either with that.

My wife rides a 4 cylinder 136... If she can handle it... :cheeky4:
