Question 2002 Yamaha Vmax reving high

Hey guys great fourm ,I just bought a 2002 yamie V max8000 km question I have beening a old ski-doo owner this new machine seems to reve very high example at 100 km i'm reving at about 8 9 thousand friends tell me this is normal for a yamaha any ides regards asquare

I had a 600 and it had a hard time hitting 8 grand but that was a twin and i think yours is a triple, i wouldnt be worried about that is about where it should rev, my xcr will cruise along a 8 no problem and that is a triple.

Sounds a little high to me. Might want to check your belt for excessive wear, then look at your secondary spring. Make sure your belt sits just above the outside of the secondary sheave.
