2005 Yamaha TORS
Does anyone know how to dissamble the TORS feature on a new 2005 RS? The manual says it's an easy step but I disagree. Mine isn't running right sometimes backfiring, flashing code 84. I was told just to disconnect and it will run fine. A safety feature not needed. Thank you. The dealer will be the next stop.

TORS is your throttle over ride system. If your throttle sticks, your engine will shut down. There should be wires aroung the carb area that you could unplug. But why would you want to do this? Sounds like a defect. Is the sled still under warrenty? I would get it fixed. It's there for a reason. I'd check it out I I were you and get it fixed. Just my .02.

Thanks for .02 snowrida. Yes it's still under warranty. The manual says it's under the handlebar pad. I am bringing it to dealer just trying easy fix first. P.S. If the throttle sticks i could just turn the key off. Thanks

There was a TSB about the TORS. Check with your dealer if your sled applies. I know both our Vectors had TORS issues last year, that were taken care of as a result of the TSB.
I'm also from Upstate NY, an hour north of Amsterdam.

I read the owners manual and disconnected the TORS. Very easy to do . Haven't road it much yet , just a couple of miles, we'll see, dealer if I have to. I really don't want the TORS working at all, that's what the kill switch is for!!!
