You guys are funny... warming up the sled for me consists of going out, pulling the starter a few times when it connects (as sometimes the recoil doesn't connect), and warming up the engine by playing with the throttle. Having a new sled must be fun .

Thats awesome. I wish I could ride one so bad. How much faster are they than the SRX 700 Tripples? That is one of my favorite sleds but Iv never had the chance to ride that either. I remember when those srx's came out though nobody could beat them in the races around here especially those pusycats.

lol my sleds only 6 years newer than yours, and it starts up first pull and idles fine, even my 1980 arctic cat did.... maybe cuz you ride a yamaha lol j/k man but seriously.. your sled should idle fine from cold...

with a liquid cooled engine, you need to let it warm up or you will be replacing pistons frequently due to "skirting". The ollerences are much closer between piston and cylinder are much closer than in a fan or free-air cooled engine. If you don't let it warm up, the piston expands too fast and tears itself apart ( Skirting: the lower half of the piston (skirt) is destroyed ). When this happens, you will have still have compression on that cylinder, but it will not get fuel to run and will eventually seise due to lacl of lubrication.
