Angry problems installing rear suspension - please help!!

I pulled the suspension on my '96 vmax500 to replace the hyflax and some worn idlers and bearings. Now installing the suspension is a major PITA!! I cant get the suspension to move back far enough to line up the front mounting holes!

Is there a trick to this?? What is the best position for the sled? Backend raised up? Snowmobile on its side? I have the rear wheels cranked in as far in as they go....

Please help! Thanks!

u deffinately want it high in the air (wether its a stand or u hang it from the ceiling) then u need to push your rear idlers as far foward as possible, they move to tighten/loosen your track. it should slip right in and the track will be really lose cuz you pushed the idlers foward. put a floor jack under the track so u dont have to hold the skid up. tighen the track back up and your good to go.

It is easier to mount the front arm first, then the back one can be moved into position much easier.
Use a rope or a come-along to hoist the rear end high enough after you get the front arm attached lower the sled to the skid and connect the rear arms.

I just installed my suspension, and learned from a dealer that it is better if the sled is on its side. On my 97' 700sx I was able to position the suspension close enough to get the front bolt started, it also helped to block up the track and rear of the suspension so it is not hanging down, after doing those things the rest was easy.
