Yellersrx

I have an Srx 700 and it only goes up to about 7500 rpm, is this normal? Sometimes when I am riding the temp light blinks at me 4 times and then does not blink for awhile this is telling me something but I don't know what?? Any suggestions or help is desperately needed?? Thanks
