1990 Phazer II

It only runs with new spark plugs but only stays running for a few minutes before it starts sputtering and then just stalls and wont re start. Anyone know the problem? Seems like Phazer II have alot of this kind of problem.

Check to see if your chokes are opersting correctly. Sounds like they are staying open and flooding the sled out.

I dont think its that because when I first started it, it would die out if I let it idle without the choke on and then if I turned it back on it would stay running but how exactly do I check that? I think it may be the air/fuel ratio is to rich but I dont really know that much about it. Anyone know how to change or check that?

Well, i aint no expert but if yours is dual carb (like mine) check to make sure your idle isnt too low, when it idles it should be at 1600 + or - 100 if its set like this it should be fine and as for the plugs im not sure but a si said when mine did this i sna dblasted the plugs, wire wheeled the sand out and they worked like new hope this helps
