Is Yellowstone NP Overrated?

I was pondering a trip to Yellowstone NP for a snowmobile trip, I’m a complete gumby, knob, newbie, greenhorn (call me what you will, I’ve never been snowmobiling) and didn’t know if Yellowstone would be a mistake (i.e. hordes of knobs (like me) bottlenecked onto the same trail, overly-restrictive NP regulations, etc…) . I do participate in enough wilderness activities to know that the best Beta is usually on these types of forums.

I can’t help being a knob, but that’s no excuse to act like one.

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks a lot-

Chad

well i went there a couple years ago and i am going this febuary and i got to say if u want to have the best ridding u will ever have then go to yellowstone.....but dont go actually into the park trail. Because they have speed limits, they have many forest rangers that do pull over (now from expreince), they charge to get in and it is also very crowded, but the sites inside the park were amazing like old faitfull and all the elks so its really up to u if u wanna go and have a blast ridding or site see

All I can say is get there before they change thier minds and kick us out. you will enjoy the day(note only one day). The rest should be devoted to riding to your hearts content.
P.S Get a guide for the best experiance.

you wont regret going. I have been several times only once in the park-before you had to be with a guilde. Now I ride outside the park. experience is not required, there is riding for all levels. If I were to go into the park again I would take a snow coach-let some else drive.

C'mon now. Whats the fun in that?

Especially when you are sitting there watching everyone else FLY by on their own sleds!!!

The speed limit is strictly enforced snow coachs go the sames speed as sleds. you have have a guilde or be with a group with a guilde to go into the park with a sled. Now outside of the park-thats different-its great.

I've never been riding in the park...but I still hold that I would want to be on my own machine (IMO)

I would recomend going to Yellowstone Park. Like everybody said 1 day in the park is usually enough. It is very beautiful in the winter. The best riding is outside the park. Riley
