Went sailin
Well I went sailing today. A friend of mone has a 32' sailboat and was nice enough to invite me along. I had a blast. There were alot of boats out on the Lk. Mich. It still feels like I'm on the boat still. Man oh man did i get one heck of a sunburn. OUCH! And I just shaved my head acouple of days ago.

what's with the measurements? 53...32...why not 50 and 30? then again, maybe the useful space comes to the 30 and 50 measurements...

I'm sorry about the cat dude. That little F@!%er does that to me all the time, and it sounds like my dog was doing her job...lol. I got your note. I'm bumbed that I wasn't there. I'm ussually not that messy. I've been trying to get yard sale stuff together. It's gonna be a biggy. Got half a barn full of crap. Mostly my dads.

It's not as hard as it looks actually. I'm still learnin, but the only thing I got to remember is to know when to pull one rope and loosin the other when tacking.

its only hard work when your on a cruiser and theres a crew of like 10ppl in a race for example.
for the average sailer its quite simple. i learned to sail on a sunfish sail boat. when you get the idea of using a smaller vessel, then you can apply the same strategies for bigger vessels.
the one piece of advice ill give is, dont tack (turn) with the wind at your back (if possible) because you dont have any controll over your sail. however, when you turn into the wind your sail will have yaw (start flapping) and you can bring the sail in or out with ease.
the other thing to remember is the closer you bring your sail in, the faster you can travel, in combination with headding almost head on with the wind.

It was pretty fun though we didn't use the main sail (torn). All we were using was a 1 1/2 jib sail. We still got some good speed and was able to keel enough to have water come over the gunnels. We had to sail all the way to the dock because the starter wouldn't engage on the motor. It was pretty cool. All the ppl on the waterfront were lookin at us like we were crazy.

It funny you mention a song about g's mom. I wrote a blues song when I was like 16-17 yo. It's about Petoskey. It discribes women like G's mom. It's called " P-town Blues ". It's not intended for young kids. It does have a parental advisory...lol
