Jet Skis

Well today I rode one for the second time. and they are officaly the biggest pain ever. after I dumped it (in the middle of the lake) the thing had about 25 gallons of water in it(it spent some time on the bars), and after 2 hours of hydro lock the motor finaly poped of. I HATE JET SKIS.

the one I was riding is a lemon, I dont know about other brands like yamaha or honda but this particular sea doo is a pice of junk. I would never buy a jet ski in general.

i dunno what you guys are talking about, but we have a seadoo and my cousin has a yamaha, and weve never ran into any sort of engine problems

every year you need to "winterize" them, but thats it...besides the occasional dead battery after winter.

yeah weve dumped them and gotten water in the engine compartment, all you gotta do is open the drain plug and out comes the water, and shes all good. when you roll it over, or even end up taking water on, that much water shouldnt get into the jet ski..somethings seriously the matter w/ your seals.

wow, sry about the bad luck, you probably just got on a crappy jet ski and dont have a good opinion on them anymore.

You need to flip it so the airbox stays up. If you roll it the wrong way, the airbox will fill with water and, well, you know what's next.....

XPs are kind of tricky to corner. My brother used to own a couple of PWCs and sometimes I would ride with him.
He had a Polaris SLX 780 and a Polaris SLTX 1050 and no XP could run with either of us.
If you are skilled, the XP is great at carving corners. They basically corner like a crotch rocket.
Polaris made a PWC like the XP, it was called the "Hurricane". I liked it but it wasnt a very popular model because it was difficult to corner. They only made it for a few years and then dropped it.
As far as water in the airbox, doesnt it have spark arresters??? They prevent water from getting into the air intake.

They supposedly flow more air than the flame arrestors and should in theory gain you a little power.
Of course, if you roll it over, water will get in the filters and it wont start.

my brother rode a sea-doo racing one, and said it was extremely tipsy, but other than that it ran good.

You are probably talking about the Sea-Doo XP, and yes, they are tippy (just like the Polaris Hurricane).
