80 mph + tree = split in half
my dad sent me these pics
heres the story:
Check out this boat wreck that happened on Hartwell the other day.
It is a 38 foot Fountain. The owner had it for about a week and has not
made the first payment on the 375,000 dollar pricetag. He was going 80
mph made a sharp turn, it threw him and his passenger out of the
boat. He did not have his kill switch on, so it steadily
accelerated until it hit the bank, went airborne and split on this tree.

that sucks. im not a boat person, but $375,000 is a lot in anything and 80 mph is fast in anything. was the guy ok?
i got a pic of snowmobile like that. same story too. it was a brand new mxz 800, with like 300 miles on it. about 100 ft. off the trail, it was wedged between two trees. it was tore up too.

i dont think drunk driving had anything to do with it. i think he was not an experienced driver, and just didnt know how to handle the boat. i mean, he could have been trimmed all the way up, and gone around the corner and cought some chop and the boat could have ejected him...
who knows tho

WOW! That would really suck. I'd love to have watched it happen though.
Maybe its me... but I find it amazing that at 80 MPH into the trees that boat's fiberglass hull didn't even look like it cracked. Amazing. Apparently Fountain boats are built pretty tough.

uhhh, cobra...
the boat split down the center of the hull, from that tree that the boat is resting on
yeah, no joke...i would have wanted to see that. i watch speed vision and they have powerboat racing on sometimes. i always love watching the off shore boats, and when they crash, its something else (i just hope no one gets hurt)
