tigershark help

Don't know if anyone will know this or not but I have a 97 Tigershark Monte Carlo 770 and when it idles it only fires on one cylinder and when you hit the throttle the second cylinder picks up and the ski runs fine I pulled the plugs yesterday and they were pretty black and I put some fresh ones in...any ideas?

Put a spark tester on each plug to make sure you have spark. If you do, I'd say compression is low on one side. Should be at least 130 lbs or so.

I haven't run it since the new plugs went in I'm going on Wednesday. Hopefully it will be an easy fix...it just weird it runs fine when you give it throttle you can feel when the second cylinder kicks could the dirty plugs cause it? this is my first jet ski so I don't know much about them

It may be flooding out on that side at idle. Check to see if that plug is wet and fuel soaked. Do a compression test to make sure it has good compression first. You need to eliminate the easy things first.

<correct me if im wrong> but remove one plug and put in the compression guage. try to turn it over and read the max psi. then do the other side.

SOunds like the idle circuit on that cylinder's carburetor is AFU. Remove and clean the carb.
