Why do you need to know this or is it just because you want to.

do you just want to know if it is rare or not so you can determine if it worth a lot?

A dealer might have that info, or call Yamaha Corp.

ever heard of srx's that were made for ice track racing, and were fueled with aviation fuel ? it was written on the tank to use 100-130 octane aviation fuel and castrol oil mix ... they had 2 x 44 mikunis on and twin pipes...
suposeldy it was a SSR engine or soewmthing similar
anybody heard this? i wanna know how true this can be... there supposed to be VERY rare... and my pop had one, i wannaknow how REAL is it or is he putting me on here

44mm carbs are HUGE! my buddys mxz 600 has twin 40mm. They really had that SRX dialed in.

well it's supposed to be that.. someone confirm it plz ?
the sled had essentially the SAME engine as the SSR.. i don't remember what RPM that thing was but it was well over 10 000
and produced something like 100 - 120 hp...the cylinders were crap but i dont remember why.. something about not having sleeves i think
that thing was fast!
i was 4 years old and my pop put me in front to "drive" a little.. you at that age you wanna hold the throttle so he put his thumb under so i wouldn't push to much, but he failed as in a moment of no attention i pushed the throttle enough that he fell on his back and i hung to the handle bars terrified
it's the only time i drove it
he bought the sled with 2 of his friends in order to race it. the driver's name was jacques huard from Quebec as i can remember. he wass one of the few who could hold it from making a wheelie and falling back on the handle bar and seat...oh did i mentionthe track was spiked ALOT.
anyways, riding that thing in the trails was hard coze you have to use like 5% throttle to go to 55 MPH.. and costed a fortune to ride with that aviation gas and all..
it came with ice blades instead of skis with a hole that you would fill up with coolant for ice racing... we got those of to go trail riding
to bad it got destroyed by it's new owner which died too....
