Carb question 1980 Pantera

Hello all! I recently purchased two 1980 Panteras. Both sleds are in great shape, but both had carbs removed. Included was four carbs, two that appeared to be rebuilt that were sealed in ziplock bags. I attempted to place those on the sleds, but the throat diameter is smaller than the sleeve on the intake. It appears that whoever had them before was in process of switching to the slide carbs instead of the butterfly carbs that were on it new. Trouble is the carbs do not have the linkage attached and I don't have a clue of what I need to hook them up. I also need to hook up the oil injection. I have the throttle and choke cables still there. I just need to attach them to the carb
Do I need some sort of adapter to mount the carbs to the intake? Or should I try to find a carb with a different throat diameter? The carbs I have are Mikuni.
If someone has pictures of how these carbs are attached that would be great. Or if anyone has the linkage especially the oil injection from the carb for sale that would be great.
I just saw a carb on eBay for an 80 but it is a butterfly carb, and from what I have read they POS.

To use the slide carbs you need a split cable and make a bracket for the injection side end.
If the slide carbs are also smaller, there may be a problem jetting them correctly as they will restrict air flow.
The stock carb is a B34 and should be replaced with a VM34.

Is there anywhere that shows how to do this? How do I tell what model carb I have?
It's been a long time since I've messed with sleds. Let's put it this way, the last sled I rode was a 60 something M/F Ski Whiz during the blizzard of 77! I was just an early teen then and dad did most of the wrenching. I live pretty far south for there to be any snowmobile shops to visit for advice or parts. I was hoping someone out there may have done this and snap a picture of the set up. I'm an old sledder but a newbie at the same time!

You need to locate the proper throttle & choke cables. The Pantera's from 1976 to 1979 used the VM34 Mikuni carb so look for cables for a Pantera from those years.

The carbs should be marked but this can vary. You can tell the size of your Mikuni carbs by measuring the inside diameter of the carb where it attaches to the engine. 34mm = VM34

You'll also need to make sure the carb is jetted correctly for the engine. Look for the jet sizes require in the 76 to 79 Pantera's. Check to see that both the main and pilot jet are the proper size for the sled.

Ok thanks for the info guys. I'll probably need more as time goes on. I'll try to get some pics on here soon. They were a barn find and only have about 1200 miles each.
