Should i buy the whole carb kit, like the needle, etc. or just the diapram kit???

sorry. got a 1971 skidoo elan 250 single. it has the tillotson hr 73a on it. also thinkin bout putting in new pistons and rings.

Are you just cleaning the carb? Shouldn't ned a kit as long as the gasket holds together

Gasket kit. Clean it THOROUGHLY.

As long as the needles you have are not damaged in any way, just the gasket kit will do.

is changing the welch plugs a good idea?? or does that prob not matter, and i should just do the diaphram kit.

If it is real gunky, change them.
If not, then you can forgo that and just do the diaphragm set.

Get a good rebuild kit Wanderosa are ok but Tilly parts are better Try E.C.Carburetors to get the rebuild kit you need.

Yes you need to remove the welsh plugs there is a small check valve in there that needs to be cleaned or you will never be able to get it to run right.

There are lots of Tilly rebuilding tutorials and videos online If I get a chance I will get you a couple of links.

Compression should be about 125psi for a good engine.
