1971 Scorpion Stinger Mark III

I bought this sled yesterday and its in good running condition. They previous owner said it was to run 50:1 mixture, but he ran 40:1, any ideas on the real mixture?
Its the 400cc fan cooled
Thanks.

50:1 seems rich to me, 40 should be fine.

yes, 50:1 would be lean, you are correct. So 40:1 seems like the going mixture?
