86 Yamaha 540 XL-V

looking through some online ads, I saw an 86 540 XL-V for 50 bucks, the seat is shot, hasn't run for a year or so, but the guy just put a new 300 buck starter in it before giving up,and now just wants it gone, would this be a good project sled, how hard are parts to find, etc? any feedback would be appreicated.

Parts will be difficult to find, but for a 50 buck setback its worth the shot.
