I need a carbuerator for a 1984 Yamaha Excel III 340. I have tried to find one on Ebay and checked with numerous dealers and also have looked elsewhere and all in vain.
If anyone has one for sale or can lead me to somewhere that I can get one I would appreciate it. The measurement of the throat is 2 1/2" OD and the other end with the flapper on it measures 1 11/16" OD. I am not sure what other models (I was told Exciter model carbuerator will work but not sure) or what other year(s) carbuerators would work and are interchangeable.
My problem is a mouse got into the caruberator throat and urinated and the urine has stained the inside and caused it to form a white powder on the internal part of the carb. Was told if I clean it it will cause the interior to scale and the parts may fall into the internal part of the engine of the sled. I n additon I was told that without a new carb performance would be impeded. The sled has only 785 miles on it so it is far from old from that standpoint.
If anyone can help me with getting a new carb or telling me what to clean it with so it won't harm the inside or the performance of the sled I would appreciate it. Or if you have run into this before what you did to correct it.
Thanks!
I live in Pennsylvania. Are you sure that the carb that you have will fit my sled? How much do you want for it? Is it a Mikuni and what year and type of sled did yours come from. Maybe exchanging phone numbers might work if we need to correspond regarding this. Will wait to hear back from you.
The carb you have from the 88 Exciter...is it from a 340 cc motor? If you go to ronniesmailorder.com and click on Yamaha snowmobiles and then click on 1984 EC-340 and then click on carbuerator it will bring up a picture of my carbuerator. See if yours matches this one. You can zoom in on it and enlarge it to see if it is like yours. If it is what kind of condition is it in? I hope it is clean on the inside and not pitted and also is all the linkage still connected to it as well. How much would you want for the carb?
Okay, well they are not the exact same. Im not sure if they would work with yours though. They're in good condition, but they were bored out for a racing sled.
