Fixin up a blizzard

Anyone know what the lighting coil resistance should be on a 1979 Rotax 503 bosch ignition setup? I'm getting 0.5 ohms which seems really low.

No power?
Should have about 34vac output. If it is a little less, it should still have enough juice to power the lights.
Have you tried to check the regulator??

This is kind of an odd application. I have converted the point ignition to a battery ignition, so I need the lighting coil to run a voltage regulator to charge the battery. The voltage coming from the coil bounces up and down so erratic that the regulator can't charge the battery thats why i'm interested in the normal coil resistance.

You need a rectifier instead of the regulator.
The rectifier will stabilize the voltage for the battery.
