78 panther, 440 suzuki, VM36 carb. mikuni fuel pump.

carb has been rebuilt, new needle and seat, viton tip 1.5 that mikuni recommends with fuel pump set up.
was working well. It was a little rich at idle, I changed the pilot from a 25 to a 22.5 started it up furl is blowing out all the overflows, I dissasembled looked for dirt or anything out of the ordinary. found nothing reassembled started it up, same thing. looked again, and even put the 25 pilot back in it, which shouldnt effect it at all. still blowing fuel. so i removed the bowl again this time I held the float tang up and sqeezed the primer bulb, no leak, I'm thinking a fuel pressure regulator. any ideas

Try checking the float shut off level. Your float needs to be set to shut fuel off before it overflows.

The needle/seat controls fuel level in the bowl, regardless of fuel pump pressure. If it's coming out the overflows, there is an issue there. Don't overthink it.
