I bought this sled last winter. It is very hard to start. I becomes easily flooded, stalls out while im riding it. I cleaned the carbs, installed carb kit, new plugs. Im pretty sure the new plugs all already fouled. Heres the thing the carb never seems like it can be set right. The person(kid) i got it from left the silencer with the sled but never used it. I have heard that these silencers cannot be removed or it may upset the carbs settings, is this true? I sure hope so... what else do you suppose I can be looking it to? Does my guess sound right so far?

Don't know about silencers, but it just sounds like you need to play around with the carbs until you get them to the best possible setting (this will change when it gets colder.) If that works then you can just change them to adapt to the temperature. Btw if it has manual fuel valve operators make sure they are fully opened before starting it.

Thank you for your help. Well i should be more specific next time sorry. Last winter when i got it, we tried just about every carb setting you could try(me and my dad), so do you think that i just need a new carb altogether? I soaked it, blew it, gave it a new kit, new plugs, it has good compression. Is it possible that it would stop sparking while it was running? Any help would be appreciated.

The WalBro HD carbs can be a stinker to get right after a rebuild.
Unless every part is cleaned and all replacement parts installed, they never seem to run right again.
That said, start with both jet needles set at 1 1/4 turn out.

Use a spark detector to be sure that you are not losing spark under compression.
