spark problems on both sleds

first off glad to be here, just picked up my first two sleds and I am pretty pumped up about them even though they are old sleds.

first one I have a 72 scorpion stinger II 400 all original, I set the point gaps and spark plug gap and I have really strong spark on one cylinder with no spark on the other. I have tried changing wires around for the external coils and both function properly. I assume that I have a dirty point set or a bad wire. before I delve into this thought I wanted to know if the generator coil was the same coil for both points sets an if not then how do I test the generating coil as well as the condensers to tell if they are good or bad?

second my 74 arctic cat cheetah 340 has no spark and I am not sure where to start as I have no electrical schematic for this engine (actually a 73 engine and wiring harness) I just got this one so I have not checked the points gap or anything a all yet.

Thanks in advance and talk to you all soon,
jkeiffer

Uses separate coils for each cylinder probably the points need cleaning or replacing.
Probably the same with the Cat too.
