old snowmobile engines- sachs 340

its from an old moto-ski or something from the 1970's. anyone got any info on it?

thanks i had no idea i need to know fuel mix, what model of carb. i dont have a snowmobile, just the engine, so im new to this stuff

Mix is 40:1, the carb should be a Tillotson, but post a pic if you can.

and another thing, i cant get a spark, dont blame it on me not having the wires connected im getting electricity from the red and blue wires, but im not getting a spark on the plug, can you help?

If you have power to the coil, but no spark, the coil is most likely bad.

Those yellow wires are for the lights.

Carb is tillotson HR1A.

the coil is brand new. the meter says energy s going through the spark plug, but there is no spark. maybe i need to gap the spark plug?

check your points. i had a 69 scorpion with a 297 sachs and id have to change the points about once a year, or at lease sand them down a little with fine sandpaper. thats all i can think of...
