'73 Suzuki Nomad Cog coating chipping off

Some of you may remember this sled that I'm in the process of restoring to at least a nice rideable presentable condition. The front and rear cogs both have the coating crumbling off. They are physically the same part and interchangeable but without the plastic/rubber coating they will not properly grabt he binders on the track. The metal of the cogs is in great shape. Is it possible to recoat these to make them usable again? Has anyone ever heard of solid cogs being put in? Any advice is desperately needed and appreciated.

Check the bone yard/parts list posts in the Tech section.

You should be able to find replacements somewhere. Search "vintage snowmobile" on the net, or check Al's snowmobile parts for them.

That or maybe you could dip them yourself... I am thinking of a few products but I do not know if it would even work.

Try Vintage Snowmobiles, Vintage Sleds and even Vintage Snow Machines. , someone may have a set or know where to find them.
