1971 ski doo tnt

hello i have been offered a vintage sled and i want to know some opions...

it's a 1971 ski doo tnt 440... its in nice shape except the sit needs to be redone on it... it runs and drives nice. it comes with two other parts sleds... he wants 250 dollars for the set... is it worth it?

I'd be all over it. It'll handle poorly (its a center engine sled after all) but should be pretty powerful and a bunch of fun.

ok thx for the advice i think i will be getting it... you say it will handle poorly... so it would handle like my john deere 400 since it also is a center engine set up?

I've never ridden a Deere but I'd guess that most center engine sleds have similar problems. The worst I've found is how the weight comes off the skis when you're under power so you have to come off throttle to turn...
The '71-'73 TNTs are very similar (the '73 had a cosmetic refresh but was basically the same sled) and were known for poor handling.

yeah the deere's turning is the same way... >.< but got used to it. so it shouldnt be to much of a worry.

Ski spreaders make a world of difference on those old sleds though.
Makes them more stable and they will turn easier too.
