63 ski doo

I dug up an old ski doo bombadier when helping clean out my grandpa's garage. I do not know much about it other than everything appears to be there short of the air cleaner. Looks to have a j-lo motor in it. Of course it does not run. Question is, should I spend some time and money fixing it up? I am fairly handy and have got a few arctic cats running. Can I find parts for it anywhere at all? Where is a good place to start on this thing? Thanks Chris

Check compression and spark, then make sure that the carb will pump fuel and it should run.
Most of those old sleds did not have any air cleaner or intake cover at all.

Here is the really quick test. Pull the plugs, put a few onces or half a shot glass of gas into each cylinder, replace plugs and pull the rope. That will tell you at least if you get spark, and if it will even run for you. Then, do as said above if it runs. Check compression, clean carbs, get it running well, grease everything, check nuts and bolts for tightness, etc.

They are def worth spending the time on. If not make sure it ends up in some good hands.
