Hello, I have a 71 lynx 292 that needs clutch work. Im pretty sure the 770 Salsbury drive clutch needs new arms, and there is a ton of service kits on ebay, ( salsbury kit items on eBay.com) But the guy thats selling the kits dosent know the Arctic Cat part number or what it fits, and I dont have a salsbury book, so I have no way of knowing which arms I need. Could someone help?

The driven clutch also needs work, it rattles at speeds above about 15 MPH. I put a puller on it to try to get it off and I tightened it as much as I could, pounded on the puller bolt with a hammer and it dosen't budge. I also sprayed a bunch of Penetrating oil on it and it still didnt help. Am i going to have to wreck it to get if off or is there another way?

Replace the Saulsbury clutch with a newer brand unit.
The secondary should come off easily after removing the center cap screw.
It probably needs new bushings in the center.

I might do that. I think the Secondary clutch is stuck because it dosent come off after I put a puller on it and tightened it as much as I could and it didnt budge. It does need a new bushing and I dont think I can get it So I will probably end up wrecking it to get it off and I will probably buy a nice used one.

Open the chain case and remove the chain and top sprocket.
Then take the locking cap screw out and the whole unit will just slide out of the housing.
You can then work on the converter and check the bearings of the shaft at the same time.

I did that, and the whole assembly will slide about 1.5-2" to the right and then it hits the steering column, and both the steering column and the chaicase are welded to the chassis, so unless I wreck this pulley I dont think Im going to get it off.

Ok, take the snap ring out and you can remove the outer sheave from the unit.
*** be careful, the spring has a bit of pressure ***

the other option is to unbolt the top end of the steering post.

Thats how I put a puller on it, I took the snap ring off and removed the outer sheave and spring. Then I put some washers on the shaft and put the snap ring back on and tightened the puller on the washers.

How would I unbolt the top end of the steering post?
