Very vintage sled...

I have no idea what year it is, but it is a Polaris Colt 340. My issue is it will not fire. I disconnected the wires to the "coils" to the plugs and checked spark with the inline tester. The light lite up. When I plug it into the coils and try on the spark plug end, nothing. I took off and cleaned the coils, checked ground and everything. I even cut back part of the wire and rescrewed it in.

When these things are bad, are they bad or can they be fixed? Where can I find one? Anyone have them lying around? Etc.?

Thanks

Well, if you have power ahead of the coils and none after, then you need new coils.
That is unless the kill switch is the problem.
Unplug the kill and key switches and see if you get any spark.

Tried that, I am just wondering if the spark is weak as is. It barely lite up my tester. I am going to pull the recoil and clean the hell out of it, and try again. I am also going to try new plugs. I don't want to put too much money into this sled as I got it for free. Coils alone would cost me $40.00.

I will say this, the friend I got it from was smart. They stored it on a pallet so the track nor the skis touched the ground, plus it was covered!!!

Weak spark can indicate corrosion on the points and pick up coils inside the mag.
