vintage go kart engines

i thought that this might be the forum to talk about this. i am looking for a suzuki fan cooled 340 or 440 would this engine run good in warmer weather and different jetting (richer) and more oil or would i run it to its death i had a rockwell JLO 292 engine that i had on a kart and i lost the carb(dont ask) i want a 70s or 80s any ideas i would be willing to go to a 500cc if necessary. thanks

A fan jetted for warmer temps will be fine. I think you will find that a 340 will be plenty.

Those are vintage sled engines you mentioned!! Vintage kart engines would include West Bends, Komets, McCullochs, B-Bombs, BM's, Parillas, Saettas, etc!!
Hate to nit-pick, but that subject is in my wheel-house!

sorry should have clarified i meeant vintage snowmobile engines for my go kart sorry for the confusion

Here is my 1969 prototype Arctic cat Dune buggy. I has independent rear suspention and is powered by a 340 Hirth. It goes like a bat out of hell.
