hi,back again with a question about the pistons in a reed valve engine as i bought a piston set on ebay that said it would fit my 433 yamaha engine but the piston do not have a cut out on intake side of piston skirt as the old pistons had.Wondering if it will make a difference as i was talking to another person and they said the reason for the reed valves is they kept the fuel from spitting back as in piston ported engines.Appreciate your opinion on this subject thanks in advance.

Because those pistons are for use in an engine that does not have reeds.
